The Author

Hello, and welcome to Moon Under Water, a blog devoted to many of my favourite, and some not so favourite, musicians. Here you will find no reviews on the likes of Madonna, Celine Dion, or even ABBA. Not that I have anything against those ‘artists’ in particular, it’s just that I can only write about the things I love (and sometimes hate, so you never know). And apart from my wife (I have to say this), music is just about right up there near the top, almost bordering on obsession. But hey, some people have a fixation for Star Wars, or collecting garden gnomes, so I reckon she’s gotten off pretty lightly on that one.

I should say that I am not a professional critic, nor do I consider myself much less pretend to be an expert on the actual subject on which I choose to write. I am merely someone who is passionate about music, which in my mind remains one of the greatest creations ever achieved by humans. And while the invention of the wheel may get most of the attention (well it did help push along civilisation after all), it is music, along with all the other wonderful Arts, which defines who we are, because a world without music would be a very dull and intolerable place indeed.

Now if you have already read some of my reviews, you may have noticed that I don’t always take things too seriously. That’s because one of my mottos in life is to see the funny side of said things (this is my disclaimer in case I offend anyone. You know how some music fans can be). And if the video to Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” fails to produce a chuckle, you’re either deceased, or must think of the boys as being the greatest thing since instant noodles (which they probably are by the way).

So, thank you for taking the time to visit my humble site, and I hope you enjoy these reviews as much as I have fun in writing them.

  1. Love your blog reviews of albums, great insight and you do what I truly enjoy about people who do reviews like this is you discuss the merits of the album and the artist, rare these days! Keep it up!
